Skunkkit's eyes went huge. "I WANNA FIGHT A TIGERCLAN CAT!" Peachkit pushed him over. "I heard PatchFang tell mother about the war." She squeaked.

Hawkstar padded out of her den and looked over to see the stranger. Forcing her fur flat, she walked over. "Well, Rainpaw." She said looking at the apprentice. "Who is this?"

The she cat turned and bowed. "Greetings I am starfrost. I presume you are the leader and I would be honored to join your clan."

Hawkstar pricked her ears. "StarFrost. Where do you come from? I do not care for invaders." She stated.

Starfrost smiled. "please, come lay down on the rocks and allow me to explain."

[Hawky]

She took in a breath and gracefully followed, her silvery white tail swishing behind her. "I'm in no real mood to talk." She warned. "My clan is being torn apart, cats are missing, and worse of all, " She stopped herself from continuing.

Rainpaw coughed, "Focus!" She mewed harshly, "As a warrior you must stray from the mission, being to protect this clan." She seemed to have a pang of greif in her voice, "If you do, you might just have a veil over your eyes andyou might loose that one."

Starfrost laid down. "I come from a place much like this. Warm summers cold winters. But I am the only survivor. We were once four clans. The names lost in time. We had joined to travel away from our home but we were wiped out. All except for me. Most of my memory is hazy but I would like to join your clan."

Rainpaw looked to Hawkstar, "Um.." the she-cat mewed and walked away, this was the leaders work.

Hawkstar twitched her tail. "Do you understand the codes and laws we live by?" She then looked at Rainpaw. "You have no place in this, go on. Go eat something or find your mentor."

Rainpaw flicked her tail as she ate a mouse quietly.

Rainpaw cleaned her pelt, showing off her dark tabby fur. The brown, small she-cat walked off sadly as she padded towards a certain stream. She felt the feelings she had when she had found him there, limp, cold, and no longer breathing.

Star frost nodded. "Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your clan, as one day you may meet them in battle. Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory. Elders and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders. Prey is killed to be eaten. Give thanks to SunClan for it's life. A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice. Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name. A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice. The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies or retires. After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh. A gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time. Boundries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats. No warrior may neglect a kit in pain or in danger, even if that kit is from a different clan. The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code. An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or it is necessary for self-defence. A warrior rejects the sort life of a kittypet." she smiled. "I know it by heart. "

Rainpaw sat there, staring at the cold water, feeling her heart sink uncontrollably into her icy stomach.

Wolfshade popped his head up from under water. "Hi there!"
