Look at the link for some understanding.
Basicly, Sideshow Bob helped on the "Krusty the Klown show" (thus his title) He framed Krusty for armed robery since he hates the clown and wanted to take the show for his own. Bart and lisa figured out that it was really Bob and sent him to jail, saving Krusty. Bob has gotten out of prison many times, all to try and kill Bart out of revenge. Each time he fails either to the matter that he was a tv clown or to the smarts of Lisa. The only time he got out and didn't try to kill Bart was in "Brother from Another Series" (from what I know) Bob, like his voice actor, takes an intrest in classic plays, books, wine, and is just classy. Bort came from the fact that in soo many episodes Bob comes close to kill Bart, but is stopped by what he calls "a strange feeling."
