Solemnkit looked harshly at her then padded back out to curl up against the rock, but he padded instead to the place where Whiskerpaw died. "I'm sorry," he whispered. He hung his head.
"Now my child, what is wrong?" The scraggly grey she-cat crowed.
"Who are you?" Solemnkit bristled.
"Mother," she mewed.
"Mother? Who the MoonClan is my real mother?" Solemnkit flipped out.
"No silly. It's my name. I was a rouge who adopted kittens, so everyone just called me Mother. I helped to make your clans," she rumbled. "Now my child, what is it?"
"I let Whiskerpaw die," he mumbled.
"My child, would you like to see him alive and well again?" she purred a smile playing across her face and eyes.
"How?" he sat up.
"Do as I ask, and you shall see," she whispered then faded. "Try to keep Leopardpaw here tonight, and we'll talk."
"Wait Mother!" he called, jumping to his paws. "How?"

Soulkeeper climbed up High Rock and called for the clan to gather below. "We gather here today to name four apprentices. Solemnkit, this might be long over due for you, Racconkit, Molekit, and Badgerkit step forwards."
He waited for all of them to step forwards.
"Solemnkit, I'm sorry it took me so long to say this, but do you promise to uphold the warrior code and defend the clan even at the cost of your life?" he asked.
"Yes," he mewed surprised he was getting this, but then again his legs were working again.
"Then until you receive your warrior name you shall be known as Solemnpaw. Stripefall, I know you just lost your apprentice, but will you mentor Solempaw?"
he nodded.
"Then you shall mentor Solemnpaw. Teach him your strength, courage, and will power," He regretted saying the last bit the moment it was out, but Solemnpaw didn't care. He wasn't mad or unhappy even happy. No he was placid. They touched noses and sat down.
"Racconkit, will you step forwards?"
